why traverse stations should be plotted using co- ordinates, rather than plotting measured angles and distances using a protractor and scale rule? (please give clear details from your own search)
While plotting traverse stations with given distances and angles, there may be following errors in the survey
1. Errors in linear measurements.
2. Errors in angular measurements.
3. These two errors leads to the error in locating traverse points.
4.poor selection of traverse points results in bad sighting conditions.
5. Failing to measure the angles an equal number of times.
6. There may be errors in the measuring instruments.
7. The gradations on a scale May not be perfectly spaced in equipment.
8. By measuring distances with steel tape there is a chance of error occurrence. Because of there is a change in length by temperature variations.
But by using of co-ordinate there is no chance of error occurrence. So it is better to use co-ordinates rather than angels and distances.
