What is the malnutrition-infection syndrome? How can Mosley's model of this syndrome be used to explain how relatively mild diseases such as diarrhea can result in death?

Answer #1

Malnutrition infection syndrome states that malnutrition leads to vitamin deficiency which thus leads to higher probability of infection development As immunity is compromised.

As per Mosley Model which states that malnutrition leads to impaired child development which further leads to compromised immunity and hence results in energy loss and loss of productivity which catches most common diseases like diarrhoea easily and creates socio cultural mental damage which thus accounts for poverty snd lack of education and hence all this leads to high mortality rates.
