in 300 words ,For which offenses (if any) do you feel community corrections (probation, fines, community service, problem solving courts, etc.) are always the best choice? Why? Are there any offenses for which community corrections should never be considered?

Answer #1

Community corrections serve as the best punishment in the cases where the offender is not so violent or dangerous to be put behind the bars. In such cases the offender is allowed to be in the community repairing the harm which it has caused to the society as well as meeting the employment obligations and family relationships. Such kinds of community corrections are being seen when a minor (below the age of 18) commit any crime which is not detrimental for the society but the minor has done it out of ignorance and has been given a chance to improve his acts being in the community.

For instance, a minor who has committed a crime would be penalised to work in a small scale industry making candles, cane furniture and thus can serve the community.

In severe criminal case like theft, robbery, and rape cases and that commited by an adult, community corrections should never be considered.
