TOPIC: RIPV2 Versus Static Routes
What are Pros and Cons of using RIPV2 Versus Static routes to create end-to end connectivity?
ANSWER :
ANS 1. Pros and Cons of Using RIPV2 Versus Static routes to create end-to end connectivity :
The static routing is the one in which we have to configure the router manually to send the data to the destination.
--- PROS :
1. The RIPV2 is a standardized Protocol and provides most efficiency as we needs not to manually configure it.
2. RIPV2 uses the snapshot routing thus making it best for dial networks.
3. It ensures fast updates and changes unlike the static.
4. In this RIPV2 when there is network change the triggered updates are send providing more efficiency and speed.
--- CONS :
1. In RIPV2 there is exchange of the entire table with the neighbor within a very short time i.e. 30 seconds , this can be cumbersome sometimes.
2. There is a vulnerability known as count to infinity present in this due to which hop count maximum is 15 this can sometime be negative.
