Investigating the Effects of Fasting on university Student Life:
1. Topic: Fasting is one of the oldest worships that have been common among the people and nations of the world. The most broad and the best fasting is the fasting in Ramadan by Muslims, which is compulsory in Islam for every eligible man and woman. Various factors can affect people's mental health, one of the most important of which can be spiritual and religious beliefs, especially fasting. Therefore, this research focus to review the effect of fasting in Ramadan on mental health of university students in Iran. Materials and Methods: This study was a simple review in 2017 to investigate the effect of fasting in Ramadan on mental health of Iranian university students. Research data has been collected through the search of published articles in Internet resources and scientific databases including (SID, MAGIRAN, PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science) and with searching 3 terms "fasting, students and mental health" without semantics and time limitations. In total, 11 published articles have been gone through in this research. Results: Based on the results of 11 studied researches, it can be declared that students’ fasting during Ramadan increases their mental health.

The study protocol was accepted by the human ethics committee (HEC) of MMH College, Ghaziabad, India. The additional criteria were as follows: (1) students were entered in class IX, class XII or FY of college and were aged, respectively, 13–15, 16–18 or 18–19 years at addition; (2) their parents agreed that mobile data capturing was not harmful to studies; and (3) they had continued access to a mobile device which is provided by the researcher at home or school.

Questionnaire-based methods or food diaries to collect eating behavior often lack the cycles aspect of eating behavior and its variation from day to day. In phase 1, data capturing was performed using mobile phone cameras.
