why must enzymes bind their substrates weakly?
Enzymes are the biological catalysts that catalyse the biochemical reactions happening in the body. These enzymes are highly specific and catalyses only particular reactions.
The substrate will bind the enzymes weakly through vander - waal's interaction, this is because, if the substrates bind strongly then there might be chemical reaction between enzyme and substrate which forms undesirable product.
The enzyme substrate bonding should be labile so that after the reaction, the product could be detached from enzyme without much expenditure of energy.
