Question

How do I balance this equation: NaCl(aq)+Na2CO3(aq)?

How do I balance this equation: NaCl(aq)+Na2CO3(aq)?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The answer to the question is very simple

To balance this equation first we will write the normal equation

But the problem here is NaCl and Na2CO3 both have the same metal

So they won't react with each other displacing each other

And even if they did the product will be same as reactant

So the reaction would look like

Na2CO3 +NaCl ---> NaCl + Na2CO3

But for any reaction to balance it we simply have to manage the coefficient of all reactant and product such that the elements on the reactant side should match with elements on the product side ( their quantity should be same on both the sides)

I hope this helps if you have any query or want more detailed explanation feel free to ask in the comments section below.
