if you have a different compounds if you spot on the TLC (thin layer chromato graphy) the moment of these spots on the TLC plate will completely depends on the polarity of the compound
suppose if compound is more opolar this will bind strongly with silica gel of the stationary phase when you rise it it will move slowely
whereas less polar compound will move more because it will less stickky to the silica gel
