Tthe five step decision making process includes,

Idenity Problem ---> Establish goals and evaluate ideas ---> Identify and analyze solutions ---> Select recommended solution ---> Implement process

The most important step is to clearly identify the process problem. One cannot start working without having knowledge of what the real problem is for a process. Once the problem is identified, we move on to the what has already been done for the process and what windows are available for making the process better by addressing the problem associated. With the previous data in hand, a clear pathway is defined and each critertia is analyzed carefully to get a set of results or data. Of all the data we now have in hand, the best method to address the problem will be chosen and finally the method will be implemented to enhance and improve the process.
