Define HOMO and LUMO. What are the number of electrons that could be contained in each of these?

HOMO = Highest Occupied Molecular Orbitals, HOMO corresponds to the top most level filled with ? electrons.

LUMO = Lowest Occupied Molecular Orbital, LUMO corresponds to the lower most level empty of ? electrons.

just like we require 2 electrons for bond fromation, these levels are also filled with only 2 electrons (signifying a ? bond altogther) further these orbitals are filled with ? electrons only.

Any level tells whether the electron whether it is in bonding molecular orbital or antibonding molecular orbital.
