I am working on a lab in Analytical Chemistry and I am asked to calculate the bicarbonate concentration from the first equivalence point. My first equivalence point was at 7.70 mL. The titration was performed on 25 mL of a 1:10 dilution of a bicarbonate/carbonate mixture using 0.1M HCl. The initial weight of the unknown 2.1069g
I think you are missing some date, but I'll try to do it with the data you are given.
If we know that the concentration of acid used, and assuming that you used only 7.70 mL of the acid and 25 mL, we can know the concentration of the bicarbonate:
0.1 * 7.70 = 25M2
M2 = 0.0308 M
Now, you said that the mixture is 1:10 dilution, so 1 mL in 10 mL so:
0.0308 * (10/1) = 0.308 M of the mixture.
Now, I don't know what you are meant with the unknown. Is a unknown of what? Please specify that. The concentration you already have it.
Hope this helps
