Question

What is the molarity of a 0.9% solution of Sodium Chloride?

What is the molarity of a 0.9% solution of Sodium Chloride?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution :-

0.9 % solution means 0.9 g NaCl dissolved in 100 ml water

So lets calculate the moles of the 0.9 g NaCl

Moles of NaCl = mass / molar mass

                          = 0.9 g / 58.443 g per mol

                          = 0.0154 mol NaCl

Molarity = moles / volume in liter

                 = 0.0154 mol / 0.100 L

                = 0.154 M

So the molarity of the solution is 0.154 M
