Question

Calculate the following in 7.50 g Li3PO4 a) Li ions b) grams O

Calculate the following in 7.50 g Li3PO4 a) Li ions b) grams O

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Molar mass of Li3PO4 is 115.7944 g/mol

weight of Li3PO4 = 7.5 g

                            = 7.5 / 115.7944   = 0.0647699 M

1 M compound Li3PO4 having 3 x 6.023 x 1023 Li ions

Hence 0.0647699 M compound having   = 6.023 x 1023 x 0.0647699 x 3 = 1.17 x 1023 Li ions

1 M compound Li3PO4 having 4 Oxygen ions which is 64g/mol

Hence 0.0647699 M compound having = 0.0647699 x 64 = 4.14 gm of oxygen is present
