In making cologne, one divided into two. One store in the refrigerator and one at room temperature. Which one will better in terms of the fragrance, persistence and the effect on the skin and fabric of the cologne.
A cologne is mainly compose of volatile compounds, when you store it in the refrigerator you are lowering the vapor pressure of those compounds, thus you are assuring the components of the fragance to remain as liquid for a long period. In the other hand at low temperatures some compound (like the ones used to fix the fragance) can cristalize and you will ruin the cologne. Also the sudden change of temperature by the time you take it out from the fridge can cause a several lost of the volatile compounds, and a common refrigarator usually has high humidity which can affect the cologne.
The smell will persist, but the cologne is very probable to become useless.
