Answer #2

use of air acetylene flame instead of nitrous oxide acetylene flame

Aspirate all the solutions in the shortest paractical time and aspirate water in between samples to avoid air aspiration.

flame draughts are caused by insufficient mixing of gases which introduces noise, in order to prevent this noise one have to ensure flame draught sheilds are properly installed in laboratory from disturbing flame.

For highly accurate measurements, before the instruments are used for analysis hollow cathode lamp should be allowed to warm up for 5min.

In an experiment using flame atomic absorption spectroscopy, the goal is to examine how certain compounds that may be present in samples, can create interferences. You start with with a 10ppm calcium standard, and measure the absorbance. (Concentration readout is 0.105 mg/L), You add two drops of PO43- (phosphate) to the standard, and measure the absorbance. (Concentration readout is now 8.400 mg/L) Finally, you add 5 drops of La2+ (lanthanum) and measure absorbance. (Concentration readout is now 10.700 mg/L) a)...

When projects involve certain, or constant, cash flows, the capital budgeting analysis that can be conducted is very simple and straightforward. Unfortunately, this type of project rarely exists. When a project’s cash flows, or the conditions that affect their magnitude or timing, vary from their expected values, then the analysis becomes more complicated. Projects that have the potential to exhibit greater or lesser levels of risk than the firm’s average, or normal, level means that adjustments should be made to...

I have a General Question for Statics (Structural Analysis). For Truss questions (method of joints and zero-force members), how do you know when you need to find the moment at the pin joint? The book say's, when each joint has at least three unknown forces. Is this true? Really confused on how to know when you need to find the moment or not.

Point estimates often need to be nested in layers of analysis, and it is the Invariance Principle that provides a pathway for doing so. An example would be estimating Mu after having to estimate Alpha and Beta for some distributions. In simpler statistics class exercises (like those we've seen up until now), this is typically avoided by providing the lower level parameters within exercises or problems (e.g. asking you for Mu by giving you the Alpha and Beta). The only...
