Is HN3 a stable compound? Why?

Is HN3 a stable compound? Why?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

HN3or NH3 is ammonia ,it is a stable in molecular phases NH3 is blue in colour. When atoms are formed by completing their shells and with no lone pair of electron they are known as stable compounds and NH3 here is stable as the 3 hydrogens of NH3 fills their subshells with the nitrogen so nitrogen gets its 3 electrons from hydrogen s and hence there is no lone pair and all the subshells are filled which makes NH3 molecule stable compound. At room temperature and at moderate pressure the ice forms both that is water and ammonia are the molecular solids which has strong covalent bonds and weak hydrogen bonds.
