Gughee has 30.961 moles of O2. How many moles of CO2 can she make using the reaction shown below?

C3H8 + 5O2 => 3CO2 + 4H2O

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans. According to the stoichiometry of balanced reaction, 5 mol O2 produces 3 mol CO2.

So,

Maximum moles of CO2 to be produced = (3 mol CO2 / 5 mol O2) x 30.961 mol O2

                                                            = 18.5766 mol CO2
