Since bacteria lack the spliceosome, would bacteria be able to process the XYZ mRNA before translation? Will this mRNA be translated into a functional human protein in bacteria?
Bacterial genome does not contain introns and therefore RNA processing and spliceosome are completely absent. Hence, bacteria will not be able to process any messenger RNA (XYZ= which has been isolated from human beings and inserted into bacteria because of the presence of introns.
But if processed messenger RNA which does not contain introns is inserted into bacteria, then this messenger RNA will be translated and will form a functional protein.
