Direct competition - It is described as the competition with in same species. Like - Sea anemones compete for the territory in tide pools.

Indirect competition - It can explaines by the competition of one species with other . Like the figth between the small fish and eagle. Both of the competition is for survive in the environment . Competition both within and between species is an important topic in ecology, especially community ecology. Competition is one of many interac biotic and abioticfactors that affect community structure. So if some one have to survive they have to compete.
