You are having lunch with a friend in early fall. Your work has recently announced that the annual flu shot clinic will be happening that afternoon, and you mention that you are planning to go. Your friend says she got the shot a couple years ago so should be good to go. Given your recent study of viruses and vaccines, you tell your friend the following (include in your answer an overview of both why she should get the vaccine this year, and a description of what a vaccine actually is - in your answer, include and describe the terms 'envelope' and 'attenuation').
Vacine is basically a process in which we expose the body to the quantitatively measured dead or live weekend form( attenuated) of an organisim, so that body can prepare itself and learn to make antibodies against that particular organsim. So when the organisim will contact again, body recognise it and killed it with the antibodies.
In case of viruses, some of them are covered with envelope and they mutate very fast and can cause change in the envelope so even if a vaccine against virus is given many years ago, it may be the case that virus has changed its envelope slighly and body can't recognise it when it will infect. This is why every year vaccine should be taken in case of virus to prepare body.
Hope it helps you ! :)
