1. Give an example of a practical use for bioinformatics. Think about different professionals (medical doctors, researchers, forensic investigators, etc.) and how this technology could be used in that field.

Answer #1

Bioinformatics involves the usage of computational tools in understanding Biology.

An example of the use of Bioinformatics in research would be to build networks. Gene coexpression networks can be built. Expression of one gene has an effect on the expression of other genes. This effect is given in terms of coexpression. It tells us how two genes express in relation to each other. The expression of two coexpressed genes increase and decrease together. Gene coexpression networks can be built using Bioinformatics tools like WGCNA, an R package. This kind of network can tell us how the expression of one gene varies with the expression of other genes. It tells us how the perturbation in the expression of one gene (which could happen in disease conditions) could have an effect on the expression of other genes.

1. we will use a voltage divider, which divides voltage into parts. A practical concern about a voltage divider is that it draws current and consumes energy. In digital electronics, a rule of thumb is that the energy consumption of a voltage divider should NOT be more than a few milliwatts. Estimate the order of magnitude of the total resistance if you want to divide a 5 V signal. 2. we will use a piezoelectric speaker or buzzer (often simply...
