In the American society, doctors have a highly favourable position. There are only few more professions in which individuals would be attaining such great amount o autonomy receiving generous benefits on an economic front. Doctors have received both privilege and authority. Doctors have been able to set their own educational standards along with their performances. The factors increasingthe power of doctors are:

• comPetitiveness in the market, along with an environment that is highly complex,
• An increase in the multi institutional systems
• The rise of a bottom line for orientation of institutions.
• Physicians patient care decisions affected by the payment systems putting the hospitals at economic consequence risks.
• Contractual relationships with physicians which would be different from one employer to the other.

in order to maintain control over patients, the physicians would be using highly medical terminology along with a consolation of the ways in which it would be cleared. Most patients, unaware of technicalities, believe what the doctor is doing is correct.
