what cultural and environmental factors in the united
states may have contributed to the shift from an authoritarian
spare the rod Parenting style to an authoritative one since the
first one since WW
ll? Is another shift underway?
After the WW II, the people of the US believed that there is a lot of importance for the person to develop morally as well as financially rather than sticking on to the roots of cultural norms which might get to affect you at some point of time. Also the strong changes in the political environment made the people to adopt a parenting style wherethe kids are expected to achieve success as an individual rather than the conventional way ofbeing grown up. All these factors have contributed to the shift from an authoritarian spare the rod Parenting style to an authoritative one. I don't think that there's another such shift underway and this is because, people of the US are more bound towards such system which made them to succeed and become a massive economy.
