Mixing household products can be dangerous. One must be careful not to mix bleach along with products containing ammonia. Together these chemicals give off a very nasty smell. This is because they form a chemical called chloramine. Chloramine can cause respiratory damage and serious other dangers when inhaled. The chloramine gas is volatile which means it can be inhaled easily. Most of the oven cleaner contain vinegar and when this is mixed with bleach, chloramine and chlorine gases are released. The vapors can also cause serious chemical burns.
