I think that it is extremely interesting that dolphins and humans are the only animals capable of imitation in multiple modalities. How do behavioral zoologists track the multiple modalities in dolphins?
Researchers at The Dolphin Institute in Hawaii report that "dolphins appear to be the only species, other than humans, capable of both reliable vocal and behavioral mimicry." Behaviors are easier for dolphins, which can mimic all sorts of human dance moves, such as backward bends, tail lifts (when a person lifts a leg) .
Dolphin also have a very complex neocortex, the part of the brain responsible for problem-solving, self-awareness, and variety of other traits we associate with human intelligence.
