Answer:- Cancer can be caused by various factors besides genetics. Anything that can cause a normal body cell to behave abnormally can potentially cause cancer.

One of the major cause of cancer is exposure to toxic chemicals and compounds such as benzene, asbestos, nickel, cadmium, vinyl chloride, benzidine, N-nitrosamines, tobacco or cigarette smoke. Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of lung cancer.

Exposure to harmful Ionizing radiations such as UV rays and radioactive materials can also cause cancer.

If the body comes in contact with some pathogens such as virus or bacteria then it can also cause cancer. Bacteria like Helicobacter pylori can cause stomach cancer and viruses like Human Papilloma Virus can cause liver cancer.

Apart from that harmful dietary habits also contribute to the development of cancer in humans.
