If value of BMI of the person is between 18.5-24.9. The weight of the person is ideal. If BMI is greater than 24.9, person is overweighted and if theBMI of the person is less than 18.5, the person is underweighted.

Method 2: We can also find the ideal weight of a person using following equation-

Ideal body weight for a man = 50 kg + 1.9 kg for every inch above 5 feet.

Ideal body weight for a woman = 49 kg + 1.7 kg for every inch above 5 feet.
