2) Second. we know the sample size

Let us consider an example: Suppose we want to test the population mean by a hypothesis. So, in order to hypothesis test or finding confidence interval, we can define the standard error of the sample mean as, σ/√n where σ is the population standard deviation and n be the sample size.
