5. What is another important (non-dietary) source of vitamin D?
Answer 1:)
Folate aids tissues grow and cells work. It is a coenzyme or co-substrate during single-carbon transfers in the metabolism of amino acids and the synthesis of nucleic acids. The folate converts homocysteine to methionine in the synthesis of S-adenosyl-methionine. It also performs the methylation of deoxyuridylate to thymidylate.
Folate deficiency concurs with other nutrient deficiencies. These deficiencies cause Megaloblastic anemia, shallow ulcerations on the oral mucosa, and tongue; changes in skin, fingernail, and hair pigmentation; elevated blood concentrations of homocysteine; and gastrointestinal symptoms.
