When the blood calcium level decreases the bones releases some calcium in the blood and when blood have too much calcium it get deposited in the bones. This process of regulation of calcium is regulated by two hormones that are parathyroid and calcitonin. The parathyroid hormone secreted by parathyroid gland increases blood calcium level and calcitonin hormone decreases blood calcium level and secreted by thyroid gland.
The calcium and vitamin D both work together to protect the bones. Calcium help to build healthy bone where's vitamin D help to absorb calcium from blood.
