So the sweat that comes off needs to be evaporated to lose the heat, but if someone were to wipe off the sweat before it were to evaporate, would it be considered something else, or would the body need to release more sweat to lose heat?
When the body temperature rises above 98.60F or the body recognizes that the surrounding temperature is higher than the body temperature, the sweat mechanisms are activated to keep the body temperature under control. This mechanism works out in two ways: (1) It wets the body surface to give colder surrounding temperature to the body than that of the surrounding temperature and (2) when the sweat evaporates, it takes away with it some of the heat generated by the body.
Hence, if someone were to wipe off the sweat before it were to evaporate, the aim of sweat mecahnism will not be fulfilled, resulting in further release of sweat to lose heat.
