Describe a plausible mechanism that accounts for the phenomena of "blindsight".

Blight sight phenomenon occur via underlying control system when the more complex perception system is damaged which enable the hemianopic patients to process the visual information in their blind visual field even witht he demage in the primary visual cortex (V1). The processes which are responsible for this residual vision are those that bypass the V1. Even in the absence of conscious sensation, visual information can be controlled by behavior and suggest that consciousness is not a general property of all parts of the brain.
