CHOLECYSTOKININ :-

Cholecystokinin is a peptide hormone of the gastrointestinal system .

It is synthesized by entero-endocrine cells in the duodenum (the first segment of the small intestine ).

CCK stimulates the digestion of fat and protein .

CCK stimulates the release of digestive enzyme in the pancreas and also stimulates the contraction of the gall bladder to empty bile into the duodenum.

It regulates gut motility and inhibiting gastric emptying to regulate the flow of chyme into the duodenum .

It increases the action of enterokinase .

Cholecystokinin together with gastrin enhance glucagon secretion

It plays an important role in satiety by suppressing hunger.
