The majority of Chemical Digestion of fats begins where in the alimentary canal? What is directly responsible for this digestive process?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Majority of our chemical digestion of fat take place in the duodenum . That is to specifically say it starts mostly in the First part of duodenum.

This is because of the connection of the hepatopancreatic duct to the first portion of the duodenum. This hepatopancreatic duct have secretion from the liver and the pancreas . That is the bile from the pancreas plays a major role in the formation of fat into a micelle form . This will help in digestion of fat from the secretion of pancreatic amylase from the pancreas.

All these occur in the duodenum and cause break down of fat
