write every things about the excretion of Codeine drug in human body?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

ANSWER: The major metabolic pathway of codeine drug excretion is by glucoronidation which converts codeine to codeine6glucronide, the minor metabolic pathway catalyzed by the enzyme CYP2D6 through N methylation of the codeine to form norcodeine and o methylation to form morphine. The urinary excretion of this codeine drug may be in the form of codeine 70%, norcodeine 10%, morphine 10%, normorphine 4% and bydrocodone 1%. The active form of the drug is morphine which provides the analgesic effect to the patient.

Suppose that it is known that an experimental drug lasts in a human body with a population standard deviation of 8 minutes. What sample size is necessary in order to estimate the mean time that the drug lasts in a human body with a 90% level of confidence and 10% margin of error?  Remember to round the appropriate critical value to three decimal places and round the sample size up to the nearest whole number.

You are a scientist studying the metabolism and excretion of a new drug called X-79S. Patients who take one dose of X-79S daily maintain average levels of 0.01 milligram (mg) of the drug per milliliter (ml) of their plasma. Since our kidneys filter about 100 ml of our plasma every minute, 1 mg of X-79S enters each patient's nephrons each minute through filtration. When you test the patients' urine, you find that every hour (60 minutes) they are excreting 70...
