Because, aromatase or CYP-19 is an enzyme that converts testosterone to oestradiol. This oestradiol is finally converted to oestriol. So aromatase enzyme in female body is very essential for the production of female hormone (oestradiol) . The conversation from testosterone to oestradiol in the female body is occured by the aromatase enzyme . So, the female who have deficiency of this aromatase enzyme or CYP-19, she has elevated levels of testosterone in the body and low levels of oestradiol because she has lack of conversation reaction from testosterone to oestradiol by aromatase enzyme.
