When diabetic body produces excess ketone bodies in blood is known as diabetic ketoacidosis.

In diabetic ketoacidosis blood sugar level increases due to increase in blood sugar level causes irregular heartbeats which results in tachycardia.(Tachycardia means a rapid heartbeat which is regular or irregular)

In untreated diabetic ketoacidosis can cause swelling of brain due to increase ketone bodies in blood.Also high level of sugar in blood can cause mental confusion.
