Parkinson's disease is a slow progressive degenerative disease of nervous system associated with destruction of brain cells which produce dopamine. It is also called parkinsonism or paralysis agitans.
Parkinson disease occur due to lack of dopamine caused by damage to basal ganglia. It is mostly due to the destruction of substantia nigra and nigrostriatal pathway, which has dopaminergic fibres.
Symptoms of this disease are-
1. Tremor
2. Slowness of movements.
3. Poverty of movement
4 . Rigidity.
5. Gait - festinant gait
6. Speech problems.
