Answer #1

Answer :)

A sagittal plane is an imaginary plane of the body that runs from the mid of the mouth to the mid of the legs. The sagittal plane has the sagittal axis. Sit-ups and biceps curls are performed in the sagittal plane.

A frontal plane is an imaginary plane that divides the organism’s body into two subdivisions: ventral and dorsal regions. The frontal plane has a vertical axis. For example, running is performed in the frontal plane.

The transverse plane splits the organism’s body into inferior and superior parts. It is also an imaginary plane. This plane rotates around the transverse axis. For example, the side movement of a skater occurs in the transverse plane.

As preparation for this problem, review Conceptual Example 10. The drawing shows two planes each dropping an empty fuel tank. At the moment of release each plane has the same speed of 107 m/s, and each tank is at the same height of 1.12 km above the ground. Although the speeds are the same, the velocities are different at the instant of release, because one plane is flying at an angle of 15.0° above the horizontal and the other is...
