When the small blood vessels in the lungs are blocked or damaged or thickened or obstructed , The blow cannot flow normally through the blood vessels . Blood flows hard through the blood vessels . It causes increase in pulmonary pressure . Increase in pulmonary pressure causes decrease flow of blood through the lungs .

Pulmonary pressure can increase in some cases like some drugs, liver diseases , valvular heart disease , chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) .
