Why can steroids pass through a membrane but Na+ and K+ cannot?
Would a human be able to live if all of their mitochondria were removed?
A) Cell membrane is lipid bilayer which seperates the interior of the cell from the external environment
cell membrane is a fluid mosaic model. Lipophilic substances can cross the membrane such as cholesterol and steriods
lipophobic substances such as ions need transporters to cross across the membrane . eg: Na+,k+
B) Humans are the higher animals ..humans depend majorly on aerobic respiration for energy requirement
Aerobic respiration occurs in electron transport chain located in Mitochondria, humans wont be able to survive if all of there mitochondria are removed
