Lenses in the eye are responsible for focusing the light beam reflected from an object on the retina which then sends signals to the brain to perceive the image. If both of the lenses are removed, then it will no longer focus on the retina, hence no image will be formed. Hence, if a person does not uses artificial intraocular lens implants, when both lenses are removed, the person will go blind in both eyes. Cornea, vitreous humour etc., cannot act as lens substitute.
