Answer #1

LIVER plays a major role in purifying the blood from harmful subastances and also helps in digestion.

Liver also has a vital role in processing the consumed alcohol. But liver has a limit in this.Only a limit can be processed by the liver. When the alcohol level is too high, liver cannot process it completely and the alcohol will start to circulate in the blood unprocessed. This will lead to intoxication.

Liver converts vitamins, proteins and other nutrients into different forms and compounds,so that the body can utilize them.

Also, too much alcohol has many other bad effects on liver. They destroy liver cells and cause conditions like liver cirrhosis, alcoholic hepatitis, jaundice, liver cancer, liver failure etc.

Hepatitis: Inflammation of liver caused due to excess alcohol consumption.

Cirrhosis:Scarring of liver tissues. Liver cannot function normally. Gradual loss of liver functions. Caused by long term alcohol consumption.
