Many molecular and physiological process are controlled by feedback mechanism.

Positive feedback mechanism;

The postive feedback mechanism results in growth of stimulus which increases the process further eg ; During the breakdown products of proteins into aminoacids process continues to increase as long as the product concentration as the substrate vis continuesly available.The positive feedback back occurs rare but occurs in specific positive feedback are often harmful to survival they break Homeostasis of system .They are stimulatory.

Negative feedback mechanism;

The negative feedback mechanism results when there is inhibition of stimulus which increases the process eg; in the breakdown of proteins into aminoacids the rate of process decreases as the concentration of the product increases it avoids accumulation of product.Negative feedback mechanism occurs very often in maintaining various conditions of body.It helps in regulation of body temperature that is when the temperature of body drops the body shivers to bring up the temperature and if itvis too warm the body sweats to cool down thus it maintains homeostasis.The regulation of blood pressure is under negative feedback mechanism.The negative feedback mechanism are inhibitory in nature.
