Answer #1

Here we have data of study sample n=4434 of first examination of participants.

Mean (average) age of participants is 49.93 years with standard deviation 8.68.Out of that 1944 male subjects has been participated i.e.43.83%.Mean systolic blood pressure of participants is 132.91 mmHg with SD 22.42.Mean diastolic blood pressure is 83.08 with SD 12.06.

144 participants used anti- hypertensive medication so the 3.25% participants used the medication.

Out of 4434 participants 2181 are current smoker with 49.18%.

Mean cholesterol level of participation is 236.98 with SD 44.65.

Mean value of BMI of participants is 25.85 with SD 4.10.

Out of 4434 participants 121 are diabetes participants with total of 2.73%.

Research Scenario Hypertension is defined as a systolic blood pressure (SBP) of 140 mmHg or more, or a diastolic blood pressure (DBP) of 90 mmHg or more. Diastolic blood pressure (DBP) measurements from the general population form a normal distribution with m = 82 mmHg and s = 10 mmHg. Epidemiological studies have shown that obesity increases the risk of hypertension (high DBP). Using data from a cohort study, a researcher obtained a sample of n = 144 obese persons...

MTH 241 COMMON DATA ANALYSIS ASSIGNMENT (Fall 2018) Previous studies have shown that urban bus drivers have an extremely stressful job, and a large proportion of drivers retire prematurely with disabilities due to occupational stress. These stresses come from a combination of physical and social sources such as traffic congestion, incessant time pressure, and unruly passengers. In the paper, “Hassles on the Job: A Study of a Job Intervention with Urban Bus Drivers” (Journal of Organizational Behavior, Vol. 20, pp....

Question 6 An investigator is looking at the relationship between periodontal disease and the onset of hypertension. Suppose the investigator decides to look at height as a variable that may confound the relationship between exposure and case status in his study. After collecting information about the height of each participant, he assembles a database that approximates height with the normal distribution. A) Assuming the mean of the distribution is 176.2 cm with a standard deviation of 17.5 cm, what are...
