Question

A cancer research group was interested in obtaining feedback from women over 40 years of age who regularly schedule mammogram tests. The research group is interested to find out the following:
1)   How frequently do the women schedule mammogram test in a year?
2)   Where are the test done? Government or private hospitals?
3)   Overall, how satisfied are the women with the tests done at the hospital?
4)   How have their lifestyle changed with the awareness of breast cancer?
5)   How can the execution of the test done be more responsive to the women’s needs?

The verbatim of one respondent is provided below:

I have my mammogram done once every year at HUKM. Overall, I believe I am very satisfied with the manner the test is performed at HUKM. Although, I must declare that it’s not that I have been to many hospitals to make a fair comparison. The hospital did not provide any awareness on breast cancer and the need for regular mammogram tests. I discovered the risk of breast cancer and the importance of self-examination and yearly checks after my own mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Certainly the hospitals can be more caring towards the patients and not treat us like a herd of sheep. I know the service level is as such because we are not paying as high as those who opt for private hospitals.

If you were the interviewer, will you be satisfied with the response? Why? How would you handle this situation?

We get the following information form her respnse

1)Clearly the women get tested every year

2) Test is done at HUKM. It is Govt hospital

3) Not very satisfied

4) Taken serious measure to curb the disease

5) More awareness about such diseases should be made and patient should be given special care

BUT

>> The women feedback doesn't tell about her age that our study is looking for women having age greater than 40 years. so i am not fully satisfied. I would rather ask her age specifiaccly or ask her to give response for our research question in one line rather than giving a long paragraph
