Suppose an observation is an outlier. How do we denote that on a box plot?
Here' the answer. Please let me know in case you've doubts.
The outlier in a boxplot is designated by a "dot" which will beyond the whiskers of the boxplot.
The boxplot below has whiskers , which extend to "1.5 times IQR beyond the 25th and 75th Quartiles"
Now, look at the "Dots" beyond "whiskers" (blue line) of the plot that are marked as "outlier". This is how we represent them.
