An outlier is a data point that diverges from an overall pattern in a sample. An influential point is any point that has a large effect on the slope of a regression line fitting the data. They are generally extreme values.

So fit the regression model with and without outlier and note the effect on slope it gives better idea whether outlier is influential point or not.

The coefficient of determination 83.5% implies that the 83.5% variation in response variable is explained by the explanatory variable.

3.

As r2 changes from 0 to 1 the relationship between X and Y become stronger and stronger.
