Answer #1

The investigator wishes to test whether, when compared with recognized scientists, recognized artists tend to be born under different astrological signs. This is not an experiment, it is an observation study as the existing condition by nature is observed and analyzed. In experiment, subjects have to undergo experimental conditions like taking a particular drug, doing particular activity under certain conditions etc. In an experiment, there are two groups namely control group and subjects. Control group are the one who does not undergo any condition unknowingly whereas the subject group undergo the condition. Then the result between the control group and subjects are compared and analyzed. The given scenario also looks similar to the groups of experiment but there is no condition implied. So the given scenario is an observational study.

Chapter 21: Decide first whether data are quantitative or qualitative. Unless mentioned otherwise, no assumption has been seriously violated, and therefore the appropriate test should be selected from among t , F , or χ2 tests. Specify the precise form of the test. For example, specify that the t test is for two population means with related samples, or that the χ2 test is for two variables, or that the F test is for repeated measures. # Question Is the...
