Assume that there are 52 cards in a poker deck (no jokers). Danny is randomly drawing 5 cards from the deck with replacement. How many ways are there to draw 5 cards with only one of them being red?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

probability of first card being red = 26/52= 1/2

probability of second card not being red (black cards) = 26/52=1/2

probability of third card not being red (black cards) = 26/52=1/2

probability of fourth card not being red (black cards) = 26/52=1/2

probability of fifth card not being red (black cards) = 26/52=1/2

so probability of only one being red from 5 cards =1/2*1/2*1/2*1/2*1/2=1/32
